Oil paintings in the dining room

Hang up oil paintings correctly

It is important not to display your oil painting that you do not permanently to directly expose sunlight. This applies in principle to any fine art print on canvas or paper.

The layer of paint lies directly on the surface and is exposed to the sun without any protection. Therefore, shady places are perfect locations to exhibit your paintings.

Our advice is not to hang the oil painting in the immediate vicinity of your bed. Within the first year of purchase, the paint will naturally evaporate as it dries.

Oil painting care instructions

One of the special features of your oil painting is that the brush strokes are visible. It's a great sight, but dust likes to land on even the smallest of surfaces.

Therefore, you should not only clean your painting on the frame, but also very carefully on the surface with a clean feather duster.

You should absolutely avoid contact with water. Myths from the household remedies category, such as rubbing the canvas with bacon rind, bread or an onion, are actually useless and will damage your picture.

If your painting is even dirtier, you can also consult an expert who will take care of your painting professionally.

Skilfully decorate with oil paintings

The best way to hang up your picture is largely dependent on your own personal furnishing style, the wall in question and the impact you want to achieve.

If you want to focus on one specific painting, hanging it as a soloist is perfect for you. If you want to show your collection of paintings, the St. Petersburg hanging might be the right thing for you.
