Influenced by an early stroke, the accomplished jurist Michael Donner developed a unique visual language. As a means of compensating for his loss of speech and the limited mobility of his right hand, Donner honed his eye for composition and focused on the ephemeral aspects of the world.
Particularly, industrial and architectural photography are central to the native of the Ruhr area. He captures the industrial transformations in his homeland through expressive photographs.
Since 2006, Michael Donner has realized various photographic projects, including collaborations with the Foundation for Industrial Heritage and Historical Culture as well as the RAG Corporation.
