Karin Greife was born in 1966 in Euskirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia. After completing her high school education and a commercial apprenticeship, she decided to pursue a degree in Applied Cultural Studies with a focus on Aesthetic Design in Lüneburg. During this time, she developed her passion for painting and began to deepen her artistic skills.
After finishing her studies, Greife worked in various companies in Lüneburg and Hamburg in the fields of marketing and public relations from 1994 to 1999. In 2000, she founded her own advertising agency and simultaneously took on commissioned work for paintings. Despite her successful marketing career, art remained a central part of her life.
In 2014, Greife moved into a studio at the "Kulturbäckerei" in Lüneburg, a creative center for artists. Since then, she has dedicated herself full-time to painting. Her works are characterized by vibrant colors and dynamic compositions, often choosing cities and places like Shanghai, New York, Hamburg, Hiddensee, or Sylt as motifs. She predominantly works with acrylic paints on canvas, often incorporating various materials and layers to give her paintings depth and vitality.
Greife's art has gained international recognition; her original paintings can be found in cities like Shanghai, in Australia, and the USA. In addition to her artistic work, she also offers painting workshops and individual painting courses to share her knowledge and passion for painting with others. Through her versatile work, Karin Greife has established a firm place in the contemporary art scene.
In her latest works, Greife increasingly explores experimental techniques and new styles. In addition to cityscapes, she is increasingly dedicated to abstract compositions, where she plays with color fields and structures. Her artistic creation is thus in constant development, as she continues to refine her signature and discover new forms of expression. Her works fascinate with the balance between realistic representation and free painting, continually creating new visual experiences.
