John Constable ( * 1776 † 1837 )

Biography of John Constable

This English artist was a painter of Romanticism. His works (predominantly heaven and cloud studies, but also horses, portraits and still life) are very accurate and don’t follow any lines.

Born on June 11, 1776, he grew up in a family with 5 siblings. He studied art in London and copied classic masters. In 1806, his first sketches were made with pencil, ink and watercolor, and represented mainly attractive women.
After his wife died at the age of only 41, with whom he had 7 children, he died on March 31, 1837.
