Biography of Lydia Helbing-Schweng

Realistic paintings help us capture a precise image or moment, but abstract painting offers a vast cosmos where everyone can give their own personal meaning to the painting. The artworks of the Spheres series are mostly painted in blue tones and give an interplay between the sky and water. The compositions must be fluent and versatile since rigidity is incompatible with nature. Other series are painted with warm colors and reflect the floral world. This artist never used the color black in her artworks.

Her latest work consists on using colors to bring back childhood memories and highlight the purity and innocence of each one them. Her paintings embody optimism yet melancholy for all that has been, still present through colors and shapes.
